For a tiny beachside town in the beautiful south west, Dunsborough has a huge selection of top coffee spots to choose from. The best coffee haunts use high quality beans, which are often locally roasted.  Fortunately for us health nuts, an overwhelming number of  these specialty coffee hot spots also offer wholesome foods, raw treats or full blown epic feeds.

I am extremely passionate about good coffee (Read: fussy). Life’s too short not to devour an amazing coffee, every time. Especially with so any options at your finger tips.

These are my top picks that cater for your individual needs. You too may live locally but may have forgotten some of these niches that have rebooted their blends. Or, perhaps you’re visiting and are keen to take some of our outstanding roasted beans home with you.

This is by no means a comprehensive, lengthy report – it’s a quick, go-to reference guide to make your coffee-ing life easier. Here are my favourite coffee spots in Dunsborough that offer healthy side options, and a wealth of coffee knowledge.

Wild and Woods

If you are hungry for a nutrient dense, wholesome breakfast while needing your quality coffee fix, this cafe serves up generous vegetarian and vegan feasts, divine super smoothies and fresh squeezed juices. Get in early as seats fill up fast! A huge selection of raw treats (proudly made with doTERRA oils!), nourishing salads and snacks are all made in-house, with a huge variety of gluten-free options.

2. Best coffee spot with it ALL!

Merchant & Maker

Chilled tunes and good vibes fill the venue while you’re served up The Perfect Coffee – consistently. These baristas share a host of experience and pursue perfection in every cup. A boutique modern gift shop welcomes you as you enter, including a range of divine body bliss by local Peachy Sunday, as well as plant life, cool gadgets and condiments made in-house. Light meals and cheeky raw treats (also made with yummy doTERRA essential oils) are always on offer, all made in-house. There is even a mini store with a huge variety of chocolates, organic foods, produce and basic kitchen needs which serves great purpose for the items you forget to pack for your weekend away down south.

This favourite coffee spot is the only one listed that is open until 5:30pm.

3. Best coffee on-the-go

The Cure Coffee

Baby asleep in the car? Pressed for time? Heading off on a scenic drive to Margaret River and beyond? The Cure’s quick and easy drive through caters for you. No need to head into town’s chaos or even worry about parking, unless you wish to dine in. The Cure is renown here for a delicious range of fresh bagels, including gluten free choices, and also offers bliss balls, cakes, and healthy wraps  – while they last. This spring and summer, their Protein and Green Smoothies are hugely popular, and are also available on the fly.

4. Best coffee spot with ocean views

Bunkers Beach House

A short drive towards Cape Naturaliste sees you sipping coffee (or wine at lunch) right at the bright turquoise water that the area is notorious for. You cannot go past Bunker Bay for it’s vast expanse of pristine sand and untouched beauty.  From June to December you can even whale and dolphin watch from your table. Being able to indulge in your coffee alfresco on their deck is total bliss. Open for breakfast and lunch only, there is no better place to start your day, clear your mind and unwind in the purest of fresh ocean air.

4. Best coffee spot for your kids, bikes, dogs, recovery and getting sunshine

Albert + Nikola

With a huge expanse of alfresco options at the door, walk your dog in or ride over to this Dunsborough coffee spot for specialty coffee. Fill your inner craving for fun and fest on Coconut Bowls of acai smoothie or learn a thing or two about Albert Einstein or Nikola Tesla. This coffee spot also proudly offers locally made sugarfree, dairyfree, glutenfree raw goodness by Cape Press. Raw donuts? YES PLEASE! The grassy area is perfect to bask or picnic in the sun, caffeinate after your workout or let the kids loose.

These local boys have spared no expense in creating only the best range of locally roasted beans, with an incredible amount of attention to detail.
